The people of Israel had asked to have a king like the other nations. In many ways this concept is foreign to people today. Few countries still have monarchies, and many have no desire for a king, but there are still ways that we seek to have a king other than God.

What does it look like to have Jesus as King? When Jesus asks to be king in our lives, he does so as a king who willingly laid aside his crown, to come to you. He comes not as a King who demands that you follow, but who invites you to a feast and patiently awaits your acceptance of it. How will you respond?
